God’s Original Plan for Man

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. He created all living creatures, including the first human being, Adam, and placed him in the Garden of Eden. God had a perfect plan for man - to live in perfect harmony with Him and with nature.

God gave Adam and Eve perfect instructions and expectations: they were to be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. God also gave them the responsibility to tend and keep the Garden of Eden. This included caring for all the animals and plants in the garden.

Adam and Eve had an intimate relationship with God, as well as with nature. There was no sin, no death, and no suffering. Life was perfect.

How Sin Entered the World

Unfortunately, Adam and Eve chose to disobey God’s instructions. They ate from the forbidden tree, and the consequences were immediate and far-reaching.

God’s perfect plan for man was destroyed in an instant. Adam and Eve were cast out of the Garden of Eden and were separated from God. Sin was now part of their lives and the lives of their descendants.

The world as we know it today is far different from the perfect world that God created. Sin has caused death and suffering, and it has corrupted the relationships between God, man, and nature.

A Biblical Worldview

From a biblical worldview, we understand that God’s perfect plan for man was disrupted by Adam and Eve’s disobedience. The world we live in today is not the world that God intended, and sin has caused a great deal of pain and suffering.

However, we also know that God is in control and that He has a plan to restore the world to its original beauty and perfection. We can trust that God will make all things right in the end, and we can look forward to the day when sin will be no more and we will be reunited with God in perfect harmony.
