Dangers of Tarot Cards : the Spiritual Risks of Divination

The t

Tarot is a set of cards used for a variety of different activities, including fortune telling, divination, and spiritualism. While some may view tarot readings as harmless fun, from a biblical worldview, there are dangers associated with the use of tarot cards.

The Bible is clear that divination and witchcraft are condemned in both the Old and New Testaments. The Bible warns against consulting with mediums, necromancers, and those who use divination or sorcery. In Deuteronomy 18:10-13, God specifically says, “There shall not be found among you anyone who … practices divination, or is a soothsayer, or an augur, or a sorcerer, or one who casts spells, or who consults ghosts or spirits, or who seeks oracles from the dead.”

Using tarot cards can open a person up to spiritual forces that are not of God. These forces can be dangerous and can lead to oppression and even possession. Tarot readings can also give a person a false sense of security, leading them to trust in something other than God.

In addition, tarot readings often involve superstition and occult practices. Superstition and the occult can lead to spiritual deception and manipulation, as well as an unhealthy obsession with trying to control the future.

Ultimately, tarot cards are not neutral objects. They can be a gateway to the occult and can open a person up to spiritual forces that are not of God. From a biblical worldview, tarot cards are dangerous and should be avoided.
